Welcome to martinkodde.nl, the personal website of Martin Kodde.

Uhm, Martin...?

I'm Martin, nice to meet you. You just stumbled upon my personal website, the place on the web where I share some information that might be of interest to you, or not. I live in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands, somewhere close to the 52nd parallel, indicated by the coloured square in the map on the left. I work as a Geomatics Consultant at an Engineering and Consultancy company. Besides that I work as a lecturer and am active in developing internet services. If you want to learn more about my professional activities, check my portfolio on this website.

In the unlikely case that you would like to learn more about my personal interest, you're not likely to find much on these pages, although the links section might give some hints. Additionally you might try to contact me using the addresses provided.

Wasn't here a weblog before?

That's right. During my stay in Innsbruck, Austria, I used this domain to keep you updated of my adventures in this picturesque part of Austria. However, I found that updating a weblog is not one of my specialities. In fact, it was more commonly used by spammers who used the comments field to promote their latest offers. However, for the internet archaeologists among you this weblog was moved to a safe place in the archive section of this website.

What about the pictures on this website?

Remote Sensing is the technique of acquiring information about the earth and objects located on it. Either applied from space- or airborne platforms, it gives detailed information and therewith better understanding about our own earth. Remote Sensing techniques are used by geodesist like me to model and map certain regions of interest; you can read more about this at the publications section. However, imagery resulting of Remote Sensing data is also remarkably beautiful and can be considered as a real form of art. On this website I showcase a small selection of imagery that I consider both interesting and appealing. Click on the images to retrieve more information about the view.
